The Seward County Libertarian Party will host their 2nd annual Liberty Fest on Saturday June 3rd from 11am to 9pm! The event features Libertarian speakers such as 2020 vice presidential candidate, Spike Cohen and former Nebraska State Senator, Laura Ebke.
"We are here to celebrate liberty and break down echo chambers," Dave Kendle of the Seward County Libertarian Party said. "We've got speakers across the spectrum from Senator Danielle Conrad (former ACLU executive director) to Allie French (NAGO) and Trish Herrold (NFOA)."
Last year Senator Anna Wishart spoke about legalizing medical cannabis alongside Dick Clark who spoke on 2nd amendment rights, proving that even during politically polarized times people can still find common ground in individual liberties. Freedom issues tend to be interrelated. Excessive enforcement of drugs and firearms for instance worsen Nebraska's crisis of overburdened jails and prisons. Event highlights include a silent auction, food, cash bar, homebrew contest, and kids activities. The evening will end with a panel discussion which will include questions from the audience. An AR-15 will be raffled off, Spike Cohen conducting the drawing at the end of the day (5 tickets for $20, or singles for $5). A belt-fed M240 provided by DE Guns will be available to shoot on Saturday morning before the main festivities begin.
An optional range day will be held Friday June 2nd at 3pm. A range-safety officer will be present.
The entry fee is $35 per vehicle so it's beneficial to bring family and friends to the event together. All are welcome -- you don't need to be a libertarian to attend!
"We're here to promote liberty, pure and simple, wherever that freedom message comes from, whether it's left, right, moderate, or libertarian," Kendle said.
Proceeds benefit the Seward County Libertarian Party. Liberty Fest is hosted on Dave Kendle's acreage at 1699 Bluff Road, Garland, NE.
