There is no place like Nebraska...
There's no one quite like you and your family...
You deserve a unique party that can't be bought or sold and won't back away from the fight!

Our Mission:
"We elect Libertarian candidates to public office to ensure the personal and economic freedom of all Nebraskans."

Vision for Nebraska

Values:

America’s Heritage: Libertarians believe in the American heritage of liberty, enterprise, and personal responsibility. Libertarians recognize the responsibility we all share to preserve this precious heritage for our children and grandchildren.

Free & Independent: Libertarians believe that being free and independent is a great way to live. We want a system which encourages all people to choose what they want from life; that lets them live, love, work, play, and dream their own way.

Caring For People: The Libertarian way is a caring, people-centered approach to politics. We believe each individual is unique. We want a system which respects the individual and encourages us to discover the best within ourselves and develop our full potential.

Principled, Consistent: The Libertarian way is a logically consistent approach to politics based on the moral principle of self-ownership. Each individual has the right to control his or her own body, action, speech, and property. Government’s only role is to help individuals defend themselves from force and fraud.

Tolerant: The Libertarian Party is for all who don’t want to push other people around and don’t want to be pushed around themselves. Live and let live is the Libertarian way.

We are an all-volunteer organization. We recruit, support, and elect Libertarians. Registered Libertarians in Lincoln and Lancaster County, Nebraska are encouraged to get involved by joining our Central Committee and other advocacy committees. See bylaws for requirements.

The Lancaster County Libertarian Party exists to serve the public interest by ensuring the election of Libertarians to both partisan and non-partisan offices; to retain and recruit Libertarians, and encourage potential candidates for public office; to influence and coordinate strategic ballot campaigns; and to provide our membership with a forum on matters of political interest.

The Lancaster County Libertarian Party recognizes that each individual has inherent worth and should be treated with dignity as a unique individual. LCLP does not discriminate on the basis of sex, age, race, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, physical disability, ethnic background, cultural heritage, or veteran status. Everyone is on their own journey. No matter what path brought you to LCLP, we welcome you here to advocate with us for our freedoms.

We the People...

The Libertarian Party is the official 3rd party of Nebraska and is the fastest growing. In 2022, we had the 2nd largest number of candidates running for office across the state of any party! Nebraska has the highest number of registered Libertarian voters per capita. It's clear to us -- Nebraskans like you are ready for a new political party!

What makes us different? Unlike other political parties, the Libertarian Party is grounded in the principles of our nation's founding:

  1. We believe in you -- that you know what's best for your life and your family. Let us get government out of your way so you can do what you do best! With great freedom comes great responsibility. We trust you to make good decisions and that you'll find a charitable use for the extra money in your budget you worked so hard for.

  2. We believe in rules, not rulers. The government our Founding Fathers established protects our rights from infringement so everyone has the opportunity to succeed. The Constitution constrains government authority with something called separation of power which reduces the likelihood and severity of corruption and a ruling elite class from imposing their worldview on We the People. However, too many politicians currently act like royalty rather than public servants. We're going to change that.

  3. We believe in free markets -- that great ideas come from individuals from humble backgrounds who should be free to compete with big corporations to create the best products and services we all enjoy. We've unfortunately seen it play out at all levels of government: the other parties are bought and sold by special corporate interests which pass unfair laws to hurt our small local businesses and people who need our compassion the most.
